The Purposes:

Transformative Research in Education:

  1. Assists practitioners in seeing the value of educational research toward the improvement of their teaching, mentoring, counseling, and administrative skills. 
  2. Supports the creation of a learning community among practitioner-researchers, teacher-scholars, and those preparing primarily for advanced study at the doctoral level. 
  3. Comprehensively covers advances in the educational research in both the quantitative and qualitative traditions. 
  4. Provides hands-on experience and tutelage in planning a substantive research study in teaching/learning, counseling, mentoring, personnel supervision and staff development for organizations in the 21st century. 

The Center for Educational Advancement in support of the College of Education Faculty announces: A Transformative Approach to Research in Education: A practitioner-centered course which Integrates Cultural Issues with Research Strategies.

ED690 Procedures of Investigation and Report
Research methods in education. Location, selection and analysis of professional literature. Methods of investigation, data analysis and reporting. Required of all applicants for advanced degrees in education.
