Our reciprocal relationships with partners and collaborators is essential to our work, allowing us to leverage our respective expertise for the maximum benefit.
Faculty
The OCE works with University faculty to design and implement academic programs for high school students. Faculty who have funding for outreach and broader impacts programs partner with the OCE to identify and recruit student participants for their programs. The OCE is able to support faculty in achieving successful outcomes for their funding by drawing on our expertise in student engagement, retention, and success.
Community-Based Agencies
The OCE participates in collaboratives of community-based agencies that support the overall work of the office, including initiatives to engage and involve students’ families and other members of their community, and to connect older youth and young adults with opportunities for education and career advancement. Through collaboration, OCE is able to provide opportunities in entrepreneurship and financial literacy, among other areas.
Business Partnerships/ Workforce Development
The OCE is developing reciprocal relationships with a consortium of companies and educational agencies in the San Diego region offering paid and unpaid early work experiences for youth and young adults, including internships and pre-apprenticeships.
